The new healthcare package

The American Medical Association has weighed in on the new healthcare package...

The Allergists voted to scratch it, but the dermatologist advised not to make any rash moves.

The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve.

The Obstetricians felt they were all laboring under misconception.

Opthamologists considered the idea short-sighted.

Pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!", while the Pediatricians said, "Oh Grow Up!"

The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it.

Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing.

The internists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow, and the Plastic Surgeons said, "This puts a whole new face on the matter."

The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea.

The Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas, and the Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.

In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the assholes in Washington.

Spring updates

Hi folks,

Sorry I've been MIA, but I've been totally wrapped up in school, my son's activities, and church. (My son was in the youth musical at our church this spring, and I joined the chancel choir.)

And guess what? I'm on the Dean's List! Three A's and two B's! And one of those A's was an A+ too! Yay! My favorite class? Neuropsychology. Wow, what an interesting class that was (and... it was one of my A's!).

Did you know there is an emerging field called counseling neuropsycholgoy that is blazing new trails? I'm extremely fascinated by it. The facets I'm most interested in are the avenues that combine technology with brain, behavior, and biology. I see untapped paths with exciting potential ahead.

I'm in the process of pulling my graduate school application together. I hear competition is tough. Well, life will take me where I'm meant to go through motivation, hard work, and faith.

Btw, did you know that Abraham was seventy-five years old when God called him to leave Haran? To try to relate this to today’s life, Abraham was not quite half way through his life at that point. Abraham lived to be one hundred and seventy-five. I’m inspired. Considering that people in my family generally live to around or into their nineties, there's still hope for me then, lol. You see? It’s all in perspective. :)

On the writing front? I've got some wonderful new ideas in the works. With each class I take, it feels like a whole new world out there, lol, and I'm excited about incorporating what I've learned into a new book. This summer I'm revisiting Harlequin medical romances, and the inspirational romances with an entirely new approach...

Take care my friends,

Lee

The Romance Studio gives Life Begins In Arizona 5 Hearts!!

I'm so excited!

Check out this review from The Romance Studio:

Life Begins in ArizonaLee MorrisonContemporary romanceAvailable from The Wild Rose PressISBN: 1-60154-011-6September 2008
This incredible book told the story of spousal abuse at its worst. Dr. Claire Stevens had just relocated to Wickenburg, Arizona. She had accepted a position in the local hospital’s emergency department. She was alone and planned to stay that way. Five years before, she had divorced Nick, her husband, and he spent years in prison for what he did to her. He found her after she moved, came in and severely beat her. Her next door neighbor was Dr. Jake Cooper, the Director of the Emergency Department. While he was technically her immediate supervisor, they had never met.
Dr. Cooper (Jake) was working with his horse in the barn behind her house when he heard her scream. He managed to get him away from her and got her to the hospital. He was scared Nick would return to finish his work on Claire so he told the hospital staff he was her husband. He never left her side while she was hospitalized. Only after she regained consciousness did he find out she was his new physician. But at the small town hospital the news of the heart-throb doctor’s marriage travelled fast and soon the whole town had been told.
Ms. Lee Morrison has written this poignant story about starting over while still afraid of the consequences of domestic violence. Her characters were strong and admirable. Claire was strong but vulnerable. Jake was all male but he had a sensitivity that was commendable. Her supporting characters were varied and their qualities were written so well it was as if I was in the middle of the script living along with the cast.
The storyline was sensual but not overly sexual. The connection between Claire and Jake was enviable. His consideration for her well-being was something not always present when the man is such an alpha male. The discussion about the abuse factors was a subject I’ve seldom seen in a romance book.
I loved this book and could not put it down. I was totally surprised at the ending. I highly recommend it to everyone. This one’s a keeper!
Overall rating: Sensuality rating: Mildly sensual

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, I can't believe it, but Thanksgiving is only a few days away now. I'm on break after classes are done tomorrow. Then while I'm busily enjoying the wonderful and much needed break, I'll also be studying for finals coming up the week after we return. There's just no rest for the weary. :)

I've had a busy fall. Too busy for words. Whew! My youngest son is growing up before my very eyes. Boy scouts, violin lessons, another birthday--he's nine now, and sprouting up like a sky scraper all of the sudden! Geez, that boy is growing some long legs, lol. My oldest son got to take off the training wheels and he's now officially a certified Air Traffic Controller for the United States Air Force (with a military "coin" and a letter of recognition to add to his resume already, I might add), my daughter is still living and working in Japan and is thinking of heading back to school to further her nursing degree, and I'm still working hard to graduate from Pitt, and enjoying it for the most part.

And last, but not least... Drum roll, please. Life Begins In Arizona is now available in paperback at your favorite bookseller! Amazon, Borders, Barnes and Noble etc. Here's the print ISBN: PRINT ISBN 1-60154-011-6

Or, for your convenience, of course *grins*:

Btw, have you seen my turkey anywhere? I've lost that tricky little bird three times this week already...

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
